About Nico

Nico is the proud son of two Colombian immigrants and a product of Gwinnett County Public Schools. As a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, he is running for Georgia State Representative in House District 109 because he believes the government needs to deliver for working people, not wealthy and powerful special interests. His journey in public service began as a poll worker at the age of 16. Since then, he has been translating election documents into Spanish and registering voters in high schools, churches, and community events. He previously worked in the Constituent Services department for Congressman David Scott (GA-13), where he served as the first point of contact for Georgians seeking assistance. He worked under the Gold Dome for former Georgia House Minority Leader State Representative James Beverly, where he provided legislative reports to the Democratic House delegation. Most recently, he served as the Voter Protection Hotline Manager of the 2024 Harris-Walz Presidential Campaign for the entire state of Georgia. He is currently serving as an ESL teacher at Lilburn Elementary School. Nico looks forward to delivering for his community by expanding access to healthcare, raising wages, strengthening public schools, making housing more affordable, defending civil rights, and providing world-class constituent services.

It's time to bring back public servants, not self-serving politicians.
